Yes I have been having the same problem. I was putting super glue on the back it has worked. I made alot of bar stool cushions each having 8 covered buttons. I bought some replacements the other day (not all had super glue applied on back cause i didnt notice the problem at first). They have improved them with longer shanks to wrap around the back so they dont fall off. :) I bought the 5/8" refill pack. Hope this helps. They where probably getting alot of complaints.

This is a very easy button to make but I have stopped using them. The reason for this is that each and every one that I have place on my projects has broken, the shank breaks on them. Is there something you can do to assure that the shank does not break off? I love to make matching buttons and have not found a way to do this since my experience with these buttons. Any and all help is appreciated.

I noticed that too and believe they where defective. I was putting super glue on the back it somewhat helps. I bought more the other day and noticed the shank is longer on the back now. So they have improved them. Probably got to many complaints.
