Cut the straw into a size thats suitable for you, tape the straw to the sewing machine so the lower end will be as accurately at the centre of the zig-zag stich as possible (so it would run in the middle of the stich). Run the elastic thread through the straw and sew.

Thats it.

    Wow – SO BRILLIANT! And I noticed that you have a Brother machine – as do I – notoriously difficult to get them to shirt using elastic thread in the bobbin. Thanks for thinking outside the box!
