I love this little diagram… I just solved my problem! My mystery fabric is definitely cotton (that’s what they said in the store, but then I doubted it afterwards!)…. if only I hadn’t burned my fingers in the process!

Excellent info! I’ve tried ironing a suspected silk at high heat to see if it melts, but this is much better.
