I’m sorry, but I can’t get into the whole exposed zipper thing. I think it’s hideously tacky. There’s nothing attractive about a zipper. To me it just looks lazy and unprofessional. No offense to your tutorial, just expressing my thoughts on fashion in general.

It wouldn’t hurt to add another row of stitching, RTW style, to the bottom row to reinforce that section. While contrast stitching is nice, matching thread is perfect for blending in any wiggly stitches.
