The first step for digitizing your pattern is to scan it. The size of the scan will most likely be letter sized, so you need to make some markers or a grid on your pattern before you scan it. This way you will be able to put it back together easily and precisely.

This is fabulous. I would love to share some of my own patterns. Just a couple of questions: How long would it take to scan/digitise each piece with this method? Say a one-piece sleeve with 4 X A4 pages. Also, maybe I have missed something but how to do you ensure that the calibration is correct. i.e the pattern is exactly the size you have drafted. thank you in advance
