I have drafted two blocks based on this instruction, and the basic dress sloper. Both have left me with the front and back shoulder seams intersecting! Points X and I are on either side of where they show to be in the drawing. I’m an average build, 5 feet tall, I don’t feel I should be having this problem? Please help!

I Just have a question about the dart (W-U-R) and dart (J-K) , How do you use this in making a dress for example that does not have a seam from the bust point to the shoulder line. Thank you.
