Square up from L to the line HI and mark the intersection (point M). Since this is another construction line, you may want to pencil this in with a thin or light line. Alternatively, measure the half BACK plus 0.5 cm (or 1/5") from point B towards point I, mark the point (point M), and draw the line from L to M.

I have tried this pattern for me and for two other people who have small shoulders, but we are fairly fat (ranging from US size 14 – 18). The ML line actually meets at point I or ends up to the right of it, which makes an odd shaped back armhole. I haven’t made up the patterns yet, so it could work out just perfectly, but I wondered if anyone had any experience to share.

This line for me does not hit the HI-line, but goes beyond the line by 1 cm or so?
