i have a question… (kinda urgent, i’m making trousers right now=P)
if i want to topstitch like to “hold” the welts in place, when should i do it? before or after i stitch the pocket part?
(i’m loving the how-to btw, couln’t be more illustrative)

Thanks for the directions for the welt pocket. I’m always looking for ways to make a jacket look more tailored. This is the easiest to follow that I’ve seen.

awesome tutorial- I really like the look of bound pockets and button holes, but I never understood the concept! Your pictures and instructions are VERY helpful – I may even try it on my friend’s new bag I’m working on!

There’s a dress I’ve been wanting to add pockets to and was starting to thing it would be impossible! This how-to is awesome and makes it look…well, not TOO difficult! Thank you!

Thank you! This technique was presented in a class I took years ago . . . I misplaced my samples and am grateful that you posted it to refresh my memory. It makes a dressy embellishment for a casual jacket too.

Yes, that’s right minxdragon although there are many different ways to do bound buttonholes as there are a few other different ways for bound pockets too. I’ll upload some how-to’s when i can.

This is brilliant! thankyou, it’s one of the things that I’ve been wanting to learn. will this same technique work for the bound buttonholes? (sans pocket part obviously!) I can’t wait to try it out.
