3. Learn to use a sewing machine by testing on small scraps of fabric. Read the owner's manual and be sure to use a new needle and thread the machine properly. When you feel confident, try stitching your project.
Sewing by hand is also effective. Use a double knotted thread and you can sew the seams twice so they don't come apart.
