‘Horsehair’ can refer to a long, thin braid of woven stiff fibers that is used In the hems of gowns, or it can refer to a wider woven fabric that is used in tailored garments to give stiffness and body, particularly in collars and lapels. This How To teaches you to baste horsehair to the self fabric. We are showing you on a small rectangle, but for your project you would be applying it to the top collar/lapel.

    I have always been under the impression this was called hair canvas.

      Called both names sold by yard various widths, in different weights.

      Horsehair Braid is different fiber usually nylon and comes in smaller widths.
