I definitely enjoyed them on my "Black Mambo Mamba":http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/bernina-3-series-the-black-mambo-mamba ! When projecting a shoulder line you plan to use with a pad, make it longer than usually, it should fall on the outside at least 1 cm.

    Another idea is to layer the scraps if you have larger pieces and just sew around the edges. Or use a piece of thick fleece as the inside if you have it. This gave me a good idea of what to do with the smaller pieces I have and can’t bring myself to toss. I can’t see paying $4 and up for the foam parts when I have so much scrap laying around with not much else I can use it for. I love how you can barely tell that you have shoulder pads in that dress.
