This was a fun project as it was of a style I wouldn’t normally consider and I am really happy with the result. With it being a knit, it feels very cozy on while still being very work appropriate. Without having access to a serger, it was important to have all of the seams well trimmed to (prevent bulk) once I was assured of the fit. Additionally use of a walking foot was key as there were multiple layers within each side seam to keep from shifting as it was being sewn and to keep the gathers stabilized. Also with careful measurements, though it was a slight nuisance, all fitting adjustments were made to every paper pattern piece symmetrically to keep the design balanced (and there were a lot of pattern pieces for this dress!) but I think it paid off in the finished product.
