Like most brides, one of the first things I focused on was my dress…Buying one was never an option for me. I can barely find anything in a store that checks all my boxes: good quality, affordable price, and a healthy amount of natural fibers (I’m a fabric snob). Trying to find a gown in my price range that met my standards sounded like an incurable headache for myself and anybody trying to help me.
The pattern is custom. I made a flat pattern for the skirt and draped the bodice. Since it was bias, there was a lot a tweaking! However, it was a surprisingly smooth process in all. It has covered buttons running down the side and is lined with chiffon. I hope to once again make something this luxurious for myself. Slipping into a silk bias gown is a truly delightful experience.
