I used Simplicity 1606 pattern to sew this skirt. I really like this pattern because it has vintage vibe to it and the skirt is not too full (more like a half circle skirt) which can easily look overwhelm for my frame. I cut the skirt in size 10 and drafted a classic waistband and two side seam pockets, although they end up a little small and I would rather draft bigger size pockets next time.

From the outside, this skirt is a very basic, but hardly simple. I applied lots of couture techniques learnt from Susan Khalje’s Craftsy class: The Couture Dress.

This pattern has lots of ease in it so if you decide to try it in the future, keep in mind to check the finished garment measurements table carefully before cutting the fabric.
