I have become obsessed with finding and printing free patterns online, and I have to say, this one is my new favorite. I love the fact that with a change of fabric or slight alteration to the pattern (totally making a peplum top with this one) it can totally change the look and feel of this dress. This pattern is pretty simple, not too many pieces to deal with. I was a dummy and didn’t read that I needed to add seam allowance, but in the end it worked out for the best because I used my serger for most of it and didn’t need the extra fabric. The only place it caused me troubles was in the shoulders where I had to flip the lining right side out, which made me hate the world for the 20 or so minutes it took me to push it through.
I decided to add a little hand beading to the neckline and it made the dress feel more special. I wore it to a Valentines dinner date with a friend and of course forgot to take pictures except for a cheesy #selfie (yeah that’s right) I sent to my best friend where you can kind of see the top. Overall it’s a great pattern, I think I’ll make at least 100 versions.
