This time was first the pattern. I saw it on Vogue V8744

and I felt in love with this elegance the dress emanates. I knew also that it would be a fine wool fabric (it is a double-face), but which colour???
On the one hand, I liked the red on the Vogue picture, on the other hand, red was never my favourite colour. I wanted rather a bright tangerine red, but they didn´t have it in may favourite store, so I took this “vogue-red” – interestingly the camera captured not the real red, but the red of my imagination :-) (in reality it´s not so bright).
As always, there wasn´t a size that fitted me completely, so I mixed 6, 10 and 12.
At the end it was too big on the waist and I had to sew more fabric into the back center.
Also it builted a bulk on my belly, so I had to rip the front seam several times.
This pattern is rated as “easy” but for me it wasn´t so easy.
The dress is fully lined, it looks simply much better as without lining.
I´m not very happy about these curved seams, because the fabric is waving around them. I could iron much of these waves out, but not all of them.
Anyway, I hope a not professional eye doesn´t see those imperfections, because now I like wearing this dress and at the end I think I like the red too…
