I had some major mixed feelings about this pattern after my first attempt but I am actually happy with how this turned out. I was able to tweak the pattern bit more to make it more flattering on my frame. I think I cut a 6 on top and graded to a 4 at waist and 6 at hips but after it was sewn up I took another 1 and 1/4 inch off each hip and made the curve less aggressive. Perhaps I could have cut a 6 at the busy and done a 4 the rest of the way down? I really am pear shaped and this makes no sense to me. Regardless, I am not willing to go back and find out. I also did a forward sloping shoulder adjustment, and wide chest adjustment, extended the lower back dart by 2 inches, and cut the bust dart somewhere around a size 10. The good news is that I have been able to go back and fine tune my other version so it looks more flattering. The bad news is that I still don’t think this is a the most flattering style for me. I prefer much more fitted garments. I will have to say that the style is very easy and comfortable. So when I want to look like I tried but I don’t want to actually try, I reach for these dresses.
