This is Sudley dress – the latest pattern by Megan Nielsen Patterns!
I was so lucky to get my hands on the pattern ahead of it’s release, as I was one of the pattern testers. This is my first test version and I can’t wait to finally share it with you guys!

Sudley is a super versatile pattern which comes with loads of different variations – you can choose between dress or a blouse (both in different hem and sleeve lengths), with the keyhole cut out and an optional peter pan collar. Also, this pattern is reversible so you can even choose whether to wear the keyhole opening at the front or back. So much choice!

For my first test version I chose to make a dress with elbow length sleeves, peter pan collar and drop waist gathered skirt. The fabric is rayon I had in my stash for ages and I’m so glad I saved it up for this particular dress – I think that stripes are perfect for playing around with drop waist silhouette!
I had some scraps of red fabric which I thought would be perfect for peter pan collar, but since there weren’t enough of it I had to cut under collar pieces from main fabric. I’m not really proud of the job I did on this, the edges could be smoother and it could lay more flat. The truth is, I wasn’t sure do I really want collar or not and I still may take it off at some point, but for now I’ll keep it.

I LOVE my new dress! I like this pattern very much – it’s comfortable, cute and easy to wear, it checks all the boxes. Actually, I like it so much that I made two more dresses with it (which you may had seen already if you by any chance have stumbled upon my Instagram), and I have a feeling there will be more…
