Over the past year I’ve made quite a lot of skirts, all with elastic waistbands due to fear of inserting zips (arghhhh). Well, after hours and hours of googling, reading various tutorials I’ve decided I was going to broaden my horizon.
As I said, I read various tutorials for this box pleat skirt and then rewrote the tutorial in my own words (I find it makes the task so much easier). This material was quite easy to work with, as it has a slight stiffness to it and the stripes were great to help cutting.
Inserting the zip went better than I expected, but I still need more practice (I’ll get there in the end).
I’ve so pleased with the end result, I had to give myself a big pat on the back and then I jumped straight onto making another one the following night (project to follow).
