Satin Bustier – BurdaStyle 01/2012 #123
Satin Panties – BurdaStyle 01/2012 #128
More recycling going on, even the elastic lace is from the op shop, lol. I intended to make these two into a swimsuit so I used non-breathable black stretch knit from the op shop which I had lying around handy. With sufficient cross-wise stretch this set is comfy to wear. I sewed this set with plain zig zag and I bound the leg edges using bias from the same fabric. The lace does give it a boudoir look however.
I wanted to give contrast panels a try, and as I only had small remnants of peach lace in my vintage stash, I made them feature overlaid just on the fronts. I still have to source another plastic open ended zip for the bustier top, which is temporarily being held together at the back by safety pins, lol. However the panties stretch quite well so I might remove the zip from them and transfer it on to the bustier instead.
I’ve heard that men think high waist panties just look like granny-pants, but I couldn’t care less, because I don’t have a man hahaha! lol.
