This is my version of the Circle Top from Papercut Patterns. I love cosy cardigans but I don’t knit, so I have thought about sewing some. This pattern, which is just a big circle with sleeves, appealed as a cosy cardi-like top that I can wrap around myself like a blanket.
It’s a very easy pattern to follow, rated rookie, and would be a great choice for someone starting to explore sewing with knits. It takes longer to cut out than it does to sew! I used a plain ponte to keep it as simple and neutral as possible, but it’s versatile and suits lots of different colours and many knit fabrics.
I’ll probably make myself a summery one soon as the weather warms up down here in OZ.
