This skirt from New Look 6872, view D was very easy to make which is a gathered style and have traditional waistband. I did not sew two front patch pockets as I think they are too big and look hideous. I did not follow the pattern instruction either so I’m not sure whether it’s straightforward and easy to follow. I added skirt lining although the pattern doesn’t call for it.

I am not so keen on the wide waistband as it does not ‘contour’ or ‘mould’ enough to hug my waist completely. The waistband’s seam allowance was left untrimmed and it kinds of show up on the right size as you can see above. Therefore I will need to fix the above issues if I ever make another version of this skirt.

Although I am not 100% happy with the result, I would definitely recommend this pattern to every one of all sewing levels. There’re 7 different skirt variations to choose, from long or short hemlines, ribbon with bow at waistline, to with or without front pockets etc…
