This godet skirt is made with wool crepe, underlined with silk organza, and lined with silk crepe. I drafted the pattern myself based on my fitted straight skirt sloper. The hem and the flare is asymmetric, with the length and the flare increasing only on one side of the front. From another side the skirt looks straight.
Underlining did a very good job. In the past three months I was wearing this skirt extensively, but had to iron it only once, after long sitting under the hot sun. Wrinkles seem to straighten on their own.
Despite the layers, and the wool, the skirt is a perfect wardrobe piece for summer, even in the hot Cyprus climate where I live now. Crepe-de-chine lining gives nice cool touch, and the wool is very absorbent while thin. Perfect combination.
