Recently I’d been oogling Vivienne Westwood tartan skirts online. I had small section of wool tartan – about 1-1.5m of it, so I thought why not give it a go & try to make one. This is what I ended up making.

The pattern was self drafted. It took me forever to work out the best way to draft it & I actually tried a couple of different ways before finally working it out. Once I’d worked out the best way to do it though, it was super easy to make & only required 2 seams, a hem, a zip & some tacks. I’ve put some brief instructions up on my blog, here and here

I’m really happy with how this skirt turned out, it was just what I wanted.
