This beautiful skirt was main for one of my customers who was attending a vintage themed party. She didn’t want it to be “too vintage” though, as she wanted to wear it on other occassions.
This skirt was made out of polycotton material and as it was quite fine, I made a pink lining. I marked and cut out the circles in each material, hemmed the lining and added bias binding to the edge of the rose material. I then added a concealed elasticated waistband.
NOTE: If you’re adding a consealed elasticated waistband out of non-stretch fabric, make sure there is enough fabric in the waistband for it to fit over the hips. You can then secure the elastic in place to stop it from twisting by sewing a line through the material and elastic, I usually do this along the back seam.
