I sewed a second set during my summer vacation and again used fabric from my stash. I had bought the butterfly fabric by Robert Kaufmann last year in one of the huge fabric markets at Montmatre in Paris, it has differently colored butterflies on a pastel-turquoise base and on top are golden floral ornaments. I like the fabric a lot – but was very unsure how to combine it and put of making something with it for quite some time. Then I recently bought this pretty orange colored cotton for another project and accidentally noticed that they work surprisingly well together. The skirt is entirely self-drafted – I took the measurements of my waist, calculated how many box pleats I wanted to have, traced them on the fabric and finally pinned them when everything looked right. I topstitched the pleats with gold-colored thread and added four topstitched rows at the seam. I used my self-drafted basic top pattern for the top and only exaggerated the cap sleeves slightly.

There are a few additional pictures on my blog!
