One Shoulder Blouse – Burdastyle 7/2009 #120A

I found a good use for this vintage early 70s toweling-surfaced fabric remnant, and this tunic was quite quick to make. I think this fabric is called terry cloth, and with its slight crosswise stretch it helped hug the frame, so the fit is good. In fact I didn’t even use any elastic in the neckline or hem, and I also made the hem slightly longer to use all the material up. I sort of tried to make the pattern match up at the seams, but the pattern is so groovy that its not very noticeable. The toweling nap makes it good for warming up after a swim I guess, worn with a bandeau bikini, but it can also be worn as a top for shorts/pants or a skirt. Location: Muri Beach
