I made this lovely corset as part of a Corset Making class at Portland Sewing School in Portland, Oregon. It was a long and laborous process, lots of fitting, careful machine sewing of the layers and boning casings, and a good deal of hand stitching, but so worth it in the end!
I used the pattern kit for this corset pattern #100 from Laughing Moon Mercantile the Dore which came complete with the pattern, instructions, coutil, spiral steel boning, steel grommets, the busk, lacing, tape for the boning casings, and more. All I needed was the fashion fabric, lining and any trim I wanted.
I LOVED the process of making this corset and it gave me a new apprecaition for the centries of corsetmaking and wearing! I just need to make a skirt to wear with this corset and I’ll be good to go!
