I was recently selected to pattern test for E+M patterns, an independent pattern company based in Canada. While I already owned one of her patterns, I actually hadn’t sewn one of them up before. I was really happy with this pattern, especially the detailed seam finishes. Many of them are princess seams or flat felled, and while they did take a lot longer than serging (which is my usual method), they do make for a beautiful finish. I was asked to sew up a 3T for my daughter, but I guess she grew a bit between getting selected and making the pattern, because while it does fit, it is a little snug. I love the options with this dress. It could easily be converted into a blouse or a tunic. You can also make the skirt a different fabric/color to the top too. I had thought chambray would look great, but I didn’t have any on hand! I definitely want to make more of these dresses! And thankfully, my daughter adores it!
The pattern hasn’t been released yet – expected release is next week sometime.
