Look 1 of my senior design line, L’edge (Living on the edge of tradition) fall 2011 children’s formal occasion wear. I must say, this is my favorite outfit. From my market research and showing my first samples, I received such a positive response of my boys’ suits I did three—focusing on them over the girls’ dresses. I like the dresses, though they are not as spotlighted as the boys. This was inspired by the mandarin style of Asian dress (generally speaking). I wanted nonconventional suits…can you tell?? Mandarin collars, unique closures, patch pockets and topstitching…and DENIM. I adore denim and wanted it to be a formal wear material. Thus came the design line name and my nonconventional boys’ suits! And wzrdreams: Here is the single welt pocket that would not have been possible without your help!
