I’ve made a few ties, but making a tie is quite wasteful as I need to buy 90cm of silk as the tie needs cutting on the bias (diagonally). However, there is always a fair amount of silk left over. So this time, with some offcuts of silk, I decided to make a Bow Tie (not that I get much of a chance to wear one!!)
Anyway, this uses 100% silk, 100% wool for interfacing and silk thread. The only other things I needed were some standard bow tie hook and eye parts.
The pattern is home made, sketched and measured from an earlier bow tie.
