Last weekend I went to my hometown to spend holidays with my parents and I packed this pinafore to wear it on our family Easter lunch. The outfit is not very festive but what it is is very roomy thanks to the empire waist, and that’s a huuuge plus on any kind of family gathering. There wasn’t really a dress code but there sure was a lots of food :)

When I found this rusty brown corduroy it immediately reminded me of this pinafore I had on my Pinterest for ages. I always wanted to recreate that look and this fabric for perfect for that. I used pattern for Tweed Dress from Burda 12/2012 as a starting point, it was really easy to redraft it. My favorite part are huge pockets, so practical! I lined them with some flowery cotton, just for extra cuteness :)

I love the outcome – it’s super versatile and it goes with everything in my wardrobe! Pinafores are such an awesome piece of clothing, I already have an idea for a summer version. Or maybe two. Because you can’t have too many pinafores. Trust me!
