My new bomber jacket, based on pattern # 125 from the Burdastyle issue 02/2013. I had this elastic heavy silk coupon with 4 flower bouquets, in oil painting style (still life) and wanted to make the best use of all bouquets without cutting one. That’s why I glued the paper pattern in front and back together and cut the jacket (except sleeves) in one piece, so that the flowers are sideways and I don’t have side seams. In the back appears the abstract brown print. The jacket is lined with a brown jaquard, one color of the bouquet comes again in the elastic piping at the cuff seam – a) for more stability b) it matches the galon stripe at the inner leg seam off my pants.
The remnants of this silk will be good for a top. I lengthened the jacket by 2 inches and made a shorter cuff instead.
