It’s winter here and that means lazing around inside trying to be cozy. I’m not someone who likes tracksuit pants (sweatpants), I want something that’s comfortable without being ugly, something that’s not embarrassing to wear out. I found this pattern by Canada’s Victory Patterns; it’s called Lola and I loved it immediately. I thought it would be the perfect choice, nice and warm, casual, but still well cut. I wanted the fabric I used to be relatively neutral, and the colours of this deer fabric were what I was looking for with the bonus of a fun print.

The pattern was fairly easy to make, although there are a lot of curved seams they aren’t complicated. Fitting the ribbing to the hem, arms, and necklines was a little trickier because of the need to stretch the pieces to fit, but that just requires a few extra pins to fit it in place. Ideally the sleeves would be slightly longer, they reach to just before the elbows so my forearms can be a little cold. But that’s only a minor complaint.
