This is from pattern BurdaStyle 10/2012 #118B. I made it from a white shirting material with a slight stretch. For future versions of this top I would use a drapier fabric, as I found the drape to the cowl was quite stiff.
I narrowed the sleeves significantly in circumference, and I shortened the length of the top from the shoulder. I should have shortened it from the middle but I had already cut the fabric before realizing it was too long. Oops! Next time, I will shorten the correct way as I ended up changing the way the top draped unintentionally.
This top was my first project (!!) and it called for not one but THREE invisible zippers! As you will see from the picture, I did a pretty good job and would suggest to all those newbs out there – Keep Calm and sew an invisible zip!! I found this amazing tutorial from Sue at Connecting Threads
This is an easy project with endless possibilities depending on the fabric you use – enjoy!!
