The warm winter we’ve been having gave me an opportunity to wear something different for Christmas: a sheer white chiffon “Tie Front Blouse” #126 and a black satin “Skirt with Draping” #107, both from Burda Style 2012. I had problems finding the right curve in the skirt pattern so I had to add in a center back panel, but I think it looks great anyway. Because of the back panel, I moved the zipper to the side. The front drape is my favorite part (great for hiding a tummy full of treats) – I made it in a single instead of double layer. The top was so easy to make, is so comfy, and so versatile – plus I made it on just under one yard. I love both these pieces! I’m looking forward to wearing the blouse over some sleeveless dresses over the summer.
