As part of my current module in my Foundation Degree in Fashion and Clothing Design at Bishop Burton College, I designed a dress for a diverse model (me — I’m petite and “modestly endowed”, not just one or the other. You never see that among western models do you?)

The concept is Stars because stars are small and beautiful. The dress is made from blue velvet to represent the night sky, with the sequins representing stars and the tails of shooting stars. It’s backed with cotton, but I would still handle velvet differently in future because of the hem and side-seams not lying perfectly. : )
