I took my time making this coat and am very pleased with the outcome. I am really enjoying the length.

I used size 38 (was shocked at the size as I normally buy size 32/34 clothing. I guess it must be my height – I’m tall – and I wanted to be able to fit a jersey underneath). I made the belt but felt it looked better without it as the belt buckle I was able to find was slightly smaller than the recommendation which made the belt rather narrow.

I lengthened the sleeves by 2cm but would have preferred lengthening it by 4cm. I also reversed the pleats. The photo in the book shows them they way I did it but the directions instruct otherwise.

The pattern is lovely but the directions could have been more detailed in places. Apparently my gran complained of the same thing back in her day with Burdastyle. I’ve seen the same complaint in comments on other projects on this website.
