I sewed this tunic already in 2012, as a competition entry for a tunic design competition offered by PFAFF, manufacturer of sewing machines. I couldn’t believe it myself, but I won the competition with it and got the highest award: a traineeship in the showroom of the famous German fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer. A half year later, in January 2013, I had my traineeship and worked i. a. backstage at the Mercedes Benz Fashionweek in the team of Mr. Kretschmer, and today I still remember this exciting time that I spent in Berlin. For me the designer’s acknowledgement of my designer skills was the most lasting praise and still confirms me to go on with my sewing hobby and also to extend my creativity. Because I have seen how famous designers are making exclusive garments and accessories

This tunic was made for a competition indeed, but it’s my absolutely favourite piece in my closet. Sometimes I take part in competitions, when the topic is appealing, but I always make things that I would wear myself with pleasure. My dream tunic is made of lightweight silk with a mystical print in gray, off-white and black with some emerald green details, that I continued in the V-neck by beads and Bohemian glass leaves. With gray knitting yarn, water soluble stabilizer and my sewing machine I made a kind of weave, that looks like lace after washing out the stabilizer. After drying and careful ironing it can be applicated on the neckline.
