One Shoulder Ruffle Blouse – Burdastyle 06/2010 #120B

This blouse ended up taking longer than anticipated, due to my wanting to fully line the top, including fully lined frills (made from turned out tubes). Those frills will be the end of me lol; the gathered horizontal stripes on them are pretty uneven, but no one will notice. I used a sheer wrinkly striped organza-style fabric remnant from the 70s for the outer layer, which moved around a lot during sewing and even pinning, so I tried to always keep the stripes straight. I like using vintage fabrics, for the cool interesting designs, and I had exactly enough. I found a satin fabric offcut for the lining from a thrift store, which can also pull easily if not careful during sewing. Using a lining meant I didn’t need to make facings for the neckline or armhole. Whenever I make one shoulder garments they always end up being on the opposite shoulder to the original lolz. I’ve found the fit of this pattern is good.
