This top is the Harvest Top, made by Pattern Runway and available free from Peppermint Magazine (http://peppermintmag.com/other/sewing-school/). Although my style is normally a bit girlier, I decided to try my hand at this top, given its boxy style seems to be pretty popular at the moment. The pattern has yoke, bodice, and waistband pieces, so I decided to make the yoke and waistband contrasting fabric. I’d seen the silk at Tessuti a few times but resisted buying it, but thought it would suit this top. I wanted the contrast fabric to be less fancy, so the top could be dressed up or down. So grey linen seemed like the perfect choice.
