I made this 1940s inspired purse from a free pattern (link to the source below), some faux alligator leather, and scraps on hand. This was really incredibly easy to make and is very fun to use and wear, especially when it turns out so darn classy! The two looped straps fold into one another to facilitate the closing and opening. The inside lining of broadcloth is customized with the addition of a large pocket and a small one to hold my ‘necessities’ – my phone and lipstick. ‘Tarlatan’, a starched stiff muslin, was used to stabilize the circular bottom.
