Just in time for Christmas! I have another great free pattern! This would make an AWESOME Christmas gift for any girl under 10. It’s a mermaid fin but it’s also a BLANKET!! Fantastic huh?! Imagine your little one all snuggled in it while watching TV or taking a nap or listening to a story.

It’s so cozy! Even though it’s slightly more expensive, I recommend using Soft N Comfy fabric rather than fleece. Get the kind that’s soft on BOTH sides. It really makes all the difference when touching and feeling this blanket. Right now it’s on sale at JoAnn’s until December 24th!

This post includes two patterns. One for a 1-5 year old and one for a 6-10 year old. The smaller pattern only uses a little less than 2 yards of fabric TOTAL. I used the Soft N Comfy fabric at JoAnns. It’s currently only $5.49 a yard! I bought aqua for the tail, purple for the tail fin and neon green for the waist fin. All together this tail only cost me $10.33.

Before you print out and cut these patterns. I would recommend not printing the tail pattern and just printing the fins. The tail pattern can be easily done without the pattern. Of course, if you feel more comfortable using the pattern and don’t mind printing and taping all the pieces together then by all means, that’s what it’s there for;-)
