I made this dress using gorgeous stretch cotton jacquard fabric. I paid a lot of fabric to the fit of the dress and I am quite happy with the outcome. The only thing that I would change is that I ended up taking a bit too much width from the shoulder width when I scaled the size 36 down to fit me. I also realised only after cutting the fabric that the horizontal seam at the bodice wasn’t necessary with the patterned fabric. The seam bothered me until I covered it with a strip of lace. I didn’t want the facings ugly edge show if the overskirt moved so I finished the edges using some white satin bias binding and hand-sewed the facings to the overskirt.
