After seeing all of the lovely cut-out dresses, I decided to try it out for myself for Valentine’s day.
I used Simplicity 3016 for the dress and Simplicity 1655 for the bolero, both vintage patterns from the 50’s.
I used a combination of tutorials, the firs…
Excuse my ridiculous title,
I present to you a cotton dress made out of Barbie sheets!
Entirely self-drafted. I made this in high school when I still had no idea what I was doing.
Can’t believe I’m barely getting around to post this!
Wore it this past Vale…

I made this dress for Valentine’s Day; we went to the Camelot Lounge in Marrickville. If in Sydney, try to get along to this little quirky venue. I’m almost embarrassed to say who we went to see, Kamahl!!
So I made little red skirts for a bunch of friends for Valentine’s day… bring back the Red in love i guess… Thought I’d share. Most of the skirts, all, had some kind of embellishment on the waist bands… Used beads, buttons, sequin strips, trimmings, etc..
Pour feter la Saint Valentin, j’ai cousu ce T-shirt. J’ai utilise un jersey pour le devant et le dos, de la maille resille avec des petits coeurs pour les manches. Au bas et aux manches, j’ai rajoute des petits voland
This is my first tailored garment and while it’s not perfect, it could be a lot worse. You can check out the whole process here, if you’re curious and /or have a masochistic streak.
I named this the ‘Partly Sunny’ Frock because the dress is just kind of bright and fun and whimsical but the collar reminded me of clouds. Hence ‘Partly’ sunny;-P
I wanted to show you this dress for Valentine’s Day, but I’ve only managed to make a little photo shooting today. I’m very happy because I finally managed to sew a dress that fits well. The fabric is a wool crepe, it’s easy to sew and confortable to wear.

Ah, so much work has gone into this!
I followed a Vogue Valentino original pattern from (I believe) 1971.
I used the matt side of satin crepe, red silk lining and interlining, as well as fusible interlining. Loads of layers and almost one year of hard work.
Underwired bra and knickers
All the details are here:
I just love it!
Of all the things I have made for myself, this is the one that I am proudest of. I love the orange buttons. I love the fabric even though it is a deadly slippery polyester and I cursed the whole way through sewing it. Tilly…
Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress
This is the second finished (well almost…) garment I have made. My goal for the year is to make at least one garment per month, and nothing is more fitting (get it?) for the month of February than a pink Valentines Day top! This was my first try using single fold bia…

I really like this website www.fleecefun.com – I made fascinators for my nieces. Ages range from 2 yrs to 17 yrs. It’s fun & I did this in lieu of Valentine’s Day Candy. My sister-in- law will be thrilled!
Plan a weekend getaway in these sweater dresses and furry accessories.
