    • Pashmina shawl dress...or tunic...or top

      Added Aug 30, 2016

A friend of mine from India visited and brought me a gorgeous Pashmina shawl as a gift. I looked at it and didn’t want to hide it just tied around my neck, I wanted to show off this print!
So I went for a second scarf-to-clothes project (This

    • White Lines, JJ

      Added Dec 22, 2015

This princess-seamed dress is made of t-shirt scraps. I fitted a woven muslin of the JJ blouse (I needed to remove some fabric from the front upper chest and add some to the back). I traced the fitted pattern without seams to make a pattern for use with stretch fabri…

    • JJ green blouse

      Added Sep 16, 2015

come to think of it, I also made a pretty blouse variation. I had just one yard of this nice green cotton from a cute store in the UK for quilters. So to make it fit I shortened it and altered the sleeves to ultra short ones. Also for the ruffles I used ribbons in st…

    • JJ blouse with white ruffles

      Added May 8, 2015

The cloth used for this blouse is over 25 years old. It was purchased by my Granny and was waiting for its time for probably too long. Since the piece was small than required, I had to combine it with white batiste, which is actually no newer than the floral fabric. …

    • Spring time Marie & JJ Blouse

      Added Mar 10, 2015

Both the top & skirt are burda. I liked the idea of having a jj blouse with lots of ruffles & was lucky to have enough material to make one. Its more time consuming but well worth the effort. I will tack down the ruffles in areas to keep them from becoming to whirly….

    • JJ - first version in green with pink flowers

      Added Feb 26, 2015

For my first version of JJ, I didn’t make many changes. I only decided to leave off the ruffles, as I thought they would be too busy with my fabric. I found the pattern ran a bit big, so I took in some of the princess seams. I think I overdid it a little, since the f…

    • JJ meets New Look 6104

      Added Feb 25, 2015

I changed a few things to the JJ pattern, to make it look like New Look 6104. I removed the collar and cut a low, round neckline. Furthermore I left only two of the six ruffles that the JJ blouse has, and placed them on either side of the button placket. Finally I re…

I finally did it! I have my own jj blouse. It was a first for me. I like it for this time of year. The pattern of small yellow flowers was a gift from a friend. I only had enough for one series of ruffles not three. This pattern is from burda style jj blouse. I have …

    • Daisy Print JJ

      Added Mar 31, 2014

I used the JJ for the bodice, but Simplicity 2183 (View D) for the sleeves, and added a petal detail to the cuff – lined w/ the contrast print so that it looks like piping when the cuffs are down, but can also be turned up. I also (obsiously) left off the ruffles. I …

    • Pintuck JJ Blouse Redrafted

      Added Jun 22, 2013

Based on JJ blouse redrafted by AnaJan.

Used pintucks instead of pleats which were a bit bulky and not as neat if you can’t get the pleats even. I prefer the subtle look of the ticks.

Sleeves were redrafted to roll up cuffs.

This pattern is a size 38 but wo…

    • Blooming Almond Vintage-Inspired Dress

      Added Mar 14, 2013

JJ blouse 6009 was the prototype for the bodice and the skirt is simply a gathered rectangle( length of the blanket case). I had to alter the pattern to close-up bust dart and to shorten the length. I also draw a neckline for front and back.
      The biggest challenge w…

    • 1 Skirt 2 Looks...

      Added Oct 12, 2012

This is a skirt I designed and drafted in college for Volcom for a junior year project.
Since then, it’s been tweaked and refined a bit, and I decided to test it out with a few different materials.

First in beige wool, which puts more emphasis on the form of the …

    • When Wenlan?

      Added Sep 22, 2012

I really like the Wenlan pattern, and I once merged it with the JJ pattern to make a blouse.
Well, here is another extension of that lovely pattern combination – The Wenlan JJ hybrid dress!

I used the Wenlan pattern for the body extending it to dress length, and …
