I based this dress on the Fatina pattern. I added darts to emphasise the waist, broadened the shoulders and changed the neckline. In the back, I inserted a visible purple riri zipper with metal teeth.

Like the exposed zipper twist, it adds interest to the garment.

I love the zipper, have to try this on a dress. You did a great job!

I love this! It’s so sophisticated and a classic shape with a bit of a twist! How did you make the collar? I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a collar like that. (I’m a beginner – probably just requires some playing with the fabric!)

Thank you so much for you kind comments! The collar is a classic turtle neck without any shaping or rounding or whatever. Just a sqare piece of fabric, about 70cm wide and 30cm high (the finished collar is 15cm high and then fold again). I did not use interfacing since the original fabric was heavy enough for draping. Does this help?
