A while ago I found this fabric in a store that sells fabrics by the kilo, and recently decided to make a circle skirt out of it. What I like about circle skirts is that they are really really easy to make and look very good on people with voluminous hips and bum (like me), unlike gathered skirts which make everything look bigger (ideal for skinny girls though). It has a cut from waist to hem in the back, where the zipper goes, it’s hemmed with bias tape (so no tricky folding and ironing the curved hem) and the waistband is just a rectangle 4 cm. wide by my waist measure.
I couldn’t figure out which fabric was it, but it’s non-stretch and very light and fluid, fresh and perfect for summer. The waistband is made from poplin, and it’s interfaced and lined with the same fabric. Also I loved how the zig zag pattern adopted a star or sun-like shape because it’s cut on a circle.
