Description

For this two piece I used the Linda 8164 for the skirt as this is a very useful pattern when you need a full skirt. I used elastic for the waist band to make it easier to convert into a short dress. The top was made free hand – a cut and sew job!

Then I stitched lace to the edge of the skirt and top and gave it scalloped edge by cutting away the excess fabric on the inside to reveal a more prettier finish on the outside.

The fabric was a old duvet cover that I thought I would recycle.

Very clever restyling idea! I sometimes turn my ill-fitting skirts into sundresses for my daughters. Waste not, want not!
