I was very tentative to make my very first pair of trousers but when I saw the pattern for the Marilyn Trousers, I knew I had to try. Overall I was happy with the results since I can rarely find high waisted capris that I like. For the most part, the pattern was simple to follow. As I said before it was my first pair of pants, so I had no idea what a yoke was. Zippers are always a problem for me, and I did get a little lost trying to follow the pattern’s instructions but in the end it worked out. I took off 4 inches from the pattern since I am about 5’3". I wish I knew how to make these a bit tighter in the legs without messing up the pleat’s effect, but I’m a bit of a novice so I didnt even try.
