I saw this in Burdastyle’s 6/2012 issue and had to make it. It’s pattern # 129. I cut a size 36 and I think I may take it in just a bit more around the waist after seeing the photos. Other than that, it came out fine I think. The simple style is so versatile and can be altered many ways I’m sure…with sleeves, shorter hem, etc.
1.5 yard cotton, 1.5 yard lining, 16 inch zip

DId you used the zipper in your dress? I think you don’t really nedd it because it’s stretch. Am I right?

I used a zipper because the pattern called for it and because I used a cotton that didn’t have the kind of stretch to just pull over my head.
If you are planning to use a jersey knit fabric which has a quite a bit more stretch then you may not need the zipper.

I see now that this is my favourite pattern in the magazine. Was it very hard to sew? I am beginner.

Not at all. You’ll probably be able to finish it in a day. Starting with simple cotton fabric would make it easier. And, you can easily make many of these in different fabrics once you get the hang of it.

The pattern is simple but the zebra print gives it a wild touch. Loving it!!!
